At our centre we offer enriching Childcare to the Gisborne region with our professional, caring staff. Our large, interactive indoor spaces and exciting outings provide fun learning with a range of semi-structured, stimulating child orientated activities.
Facilities
The Sunrise Room
An exciting space for children aged 5-7 years. Featuring small group play stations, a Playhouse with dolls and furniture, a play kitchen, wooden building blocks, dress-ups, musical instruments and more.
The Centre Space
An exciting large space for all ages, Including a skateboard ramp, Basketball hoop, homework hub and even a fully equipped kitchen for cooking lessons, there's something for every child. There's also a ping pong table, small group stations with interactive resources, juniors and seniors areas, puzzles, reading books area and more, it's a whole lot of fun!

Our Philosophy
At Breakthrough After School Care and Holiday Club OSCAR (Breakthrough OSCAR Programme) we offer safe and creative OSCAR programmes that provide for a diversity of cultures, ages and interests. We provide a range of semi-structured, stimulating, child-oriented activities, that develop and affirm the mental, spiritual, emotional and physical qualities of the children and young people who attend our programmes.
As a Christian After School Care and Holiday Club we aspire to care for and nurture the tamariki (children and young people) of our commuity, sharing the aroha (love), and pono (truth) of God with them and their whanau (families). The motivation that drives our Centre is threefold:

The Policy and Procedures of the Breakthrough OSCAR Programme reflect our commitment to Christian culture, principles and values. We believe children develop to their potential when healthy life experiences, and care, are offered within an environment of spiritual character and values.
We offer positive and practical opportunities for children and young people to use their free time artistically in a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Staff and volunteers of the Breakthrough OSCAR Programme will affirm every child and young person is valued and has a place and contribution to make to our world.
The vision of the Breakthrough OSCAR Programme is to "Give Children the Best" and this will be reflected in all we do.
